Program Analyst, OPQA, UCP

Jamie Schlegel

Jamie is joining the Unaccompanied Children Program as a Program Analyst. She will be supporting the legal service providers that partner with the UCP team to protect the rights of unaccompanied minors in the United States. Before coming to Vera, she interned at the Central American Resource Center (CARECEN) office in Los Angeles helping its clients renew their Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA) status. She also conducted research in Arabic at the Enabling Peace in Iraq Center (EPIC) in Washington, D.C., on the treatment of Iraqi asylum seekers in Europe. While in college, she worked in under-resourced schools in L.A. as a Program Coordinator for the Center for Active Learning in International Studies (CALIS) and completed two service terms with Jumpstart AmeriCorps. Jamie has a BA in International Relations and Arabic from the University of Southern California. Outside of work, she enjoys road-tripping, going to comedy shows, making jewelry, and cooking.
