Ali joined Acacia after serving as the inaugural clinical fellow for the Immigrant Family Legal Clinic at UCLA School of Law. The innovative, community-based clinic sits on the RFK Community Schools’ campus in Koreatown and represents LAUSD students and families in a range of immigration matters, from special immigrant juvenile petitions to defensive asylum proceedings. Previously, Ali represented unaccompanied children and Franco Gonzalez class members as a staff attorney at Immigrant Defenders Law Center. Ali began her legal career with a fellowship on NYLAG’s pro bono representation team. Ali attended Cardozo School of Law in New York, her home state, after two years teaching English to middle school students in Santiago, Chile. Ali currently lives in Los Angeles with her rescue pup, Santi.
