
Aman Thind
Senior Program Associate, ICH/FGLOP
As a Senior Program Associate for the Immigration Court Helpdesk (ICH) & Family Group Legal Orientation Program (FGLOP), Aman Thind provides program oversight and technical assistance support to nonprofit legal service providers that educate individuals and families at risk of deportation about immigration court proceedings. Before joining Acacia in 2022, Aman served for eight years as the Managing Director of Immigration Services at Advancing Justice Southern California, where she oversaw the teams that provided legal assistance with adjustment of status, asylum, citizenship, VAWA, U visas, TPS, representation in immigration court, and Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA). Before that, Aman worked as a staff attorney at Legal Services for Children in San Francisco, where she helped launch the Detained Immigrant Children's project and represented children in the areas of probate, immigration, dependency, and education law. In 2003, Aman co-founded the Immigration Center for Women and Children in Los Angeles, working with victims of domestic violence on VAWA, SIJS and U visa cases. Aman earned her J.D. from the University of California Berkeley School of Law, and her B.A. in Economics from UCLA. Aman lives in Southern California with her husband, their two teenage children, and their two pups. In her free time, Aman enjoys hiking, soccer, and traveling.
