Frances Davila

As a senior program associate for the Legal Orientation Program (LOP), Frances provides support and technical assistance to nonprofit legal service providers that educate people in immigration detention about their removal proceedings for them to make informed decisions about their legal cases. Frances was an Immigrant Justice Corps Fellow at the Bronx Defenders, representing people detained in removal proceedings. Afterward, she was the lead attorney of the NYU Immigrant Defense Initiative. More recently, Frances worked at the Central American Resource Center in Los Angeles, representing survivors of violence and community college students. Throughout her career, Frances has designed and led trainings on immigration law and policy and Know Your Rights. Frances is a graduate of NYU School of Law and Georgetown University. She was selected as an NYU Latinx Rights Scholar, an NYU Social Sector Leadership Diversity Fellow, and as the Derrick Bell Scholar for Public Service. Frances has received the Equal Justice Works Public Interest Award, the Award for Clinical Service, and the 2020 Rising Star Award from the NYU Law Alumni of Color Association.
