
Hortencia Rodriguez
Director of Community Partnership
Hortencia Rodríguez is the Director of Community Partnerships and Local and State Policy. She is from San Juan, Puerto Rico and is now based in Los Angeles. Hortencia has a background in program evaluation, child welfare, and policy advocacy. Most recently, she was a program manager at Vera leading a team to develop an initiative to end immigration detention. Before that, she was supporting the national Unaccompanied Children Program (UCP) and California’s Unaccompanied Minors Technical Assistance (UMTA) network working to strengthen legal services and social services supports for children and youth across CA. Hortencia graduated from Wesleyan University with a BA in anthropology and the University of California, Berkeley, with an MPP/MA in international and area studies. She loves the beach and the outdoors so you can find her camping and/or surfing outside of work.
