Lia Yahya joined Acacia from the National Institute of Health — there, she served as the Supervisory Acquisitions and Business Specialist within the Office of the Director. She began her career in federal service at the Department of Health and Human Services working within the office of the Assistant Secretary of Financial Resources, where she worked on business process improvement, acquisitions, and operations. In 2018, Lia joined NIH’s All of Us Research Program office— For over 3 years, she worked within the Office of Finance & Management. She holds a COR Level III certification and served as the Contracts Lead for the program managing a wide variety of contracts. She also assisted with managing space, headquarters office renovation, and IT. Lia has also worked within the National Institute of Mental Health (NIMH) where she served as a STARS project officer in the Scientific Talent and Recruiting Services (STARS) Branch. She managed the recompete and transition of the STOPS single vendor contract to SOAR multi-vendor contract. She was also instrumental in helping that team launch the NIH-wide STARS Automation System. Lia earned her bachelor’s degree from University of Maryland Eastern Shore in Criminal Justice. In her free time Lia enjoys traveling, practicing yoga, spending her weekends at her kids sporting events, and spending time with her 7 year old chocolate lab.
