Lisa Okamoto is the Program Director for the National Qualified Representative Program and the Counsel to Children Initiative. Lisa spent the last 8 years in removal defense, representing unaccompanied children, families, and detained adults. Lisa was most recently a directing attorney at ImmDef where she had the privilege of working with great attorneys and support staff on our local government-funded universal representation programs. Lisa additionally worked on a variety of universal representation campaigns locally, including Los Angeles County and Orange County. Prior to law school, Lisa spent almost 6 years working with older and disabled immigrant adults with their healthcare both in Los Angeles and New York. On a personal note, she loves running, the outdoors, and exploring second-hand clothing markets.
