Veronica Joya

Senior Program Associate, UCP

Veronica has worked with immigrant children for over a decade. Prior to joining Acacia, Veronica was the Immigration Unit Supervising Attorney at Community Legal Aid SoCal, where she provided both program management and direct legal services to survivors of crime in both affirmative and removal proceedings. Throughout her career, Veronica has provided mentorship and training to attorneys representing children in immigration matters, ensuring their representation was child-centered and trauma informed. She received her Bachelor's degree in Rhetoric from the University of California, Berkeley and her J.D. from the City University of New York Law School, where she was a Haywood Burns Fellow in Civil and Human Rights. She is admitted to the New York and California bars.
